Urban Health Center , Yagarlapalli :

  • Keeping in view the services rendered by the Organization the District Medical and Health Department shouldered the responsibility of  Coordinating the UHC in the year 2000. Since then itself the center has been successfully implementing its schemes and gained the applause if District Medical and Health Department. It aims at the welfare of Women and Slum dwellers and Health education. Five Mahila Aarogya Sanghams are working under this Urban Health Center.
  • District Medical & Health Department allotted an Urban Health Center in the year 2000.
  • The center has gained the applause of District Medical & Health Department in successfully implementing its schemes.
  • It aims at the welfare of the Women & Children of the slums.
  • 5 Mahila Arogya Sanghams are working under this UHC.
  • Health Education, Family planning and pulse polio immunization are the main activities of the UHC.
  • Reducing infant mortality  and maternity mortal rates is the main goal of the UHC

NACO/DFID PSH PROJECT

  • Keeping in view the indelible medical and health services extended by the organization, the Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society ( APSACS ) allotted a Sexual Health Project in the year 2000 October to create sensitization on Sexually Transmitted Infections in order to combat the pandemic HIV / AIDS.  The main objective and goal of the target intervention is to bring about a behavioural Change and to suppress the vigorous spread of STDs and HIV/AIDS among the people of high risk behavior, by promoting safe sexual methods, as  the HIV infection and AIDS have become a global pandemic. It has been working towards the prevention of STIs and HIV / AIDS and giving drugs for Opportunistic Infections and extending the rehabilitation for the victims of HIV / AIDS.
  • APSACS allotted a sexual health project in the year 2000 October to work towards the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS among the slum dwellers
  • The main components of the project are Behavioral Change Communication, STD care, Condom Promotion and Enabling Environment
  • The main objectives of the Target Intervention are to bring about Behavioral change among the people of high risk behavior.
  • Promoting safe sexual practices.
  • Promoting risk reduction strategies.
  • Promoting risk perception among the people of high risk behavior.
  • Converted in to sex workers intervention in the year 2003.
  • Peer Education system developed for effective Target Intervention among the sex workers.
  • 5 years of Target Intervention have been  completed and stepped in to NACP-III.

6) PLWHA Network

  • A Network for Positive living people had been set up in the year 2001.
  • The title of the network is “Manodhirya”
  • The initial strength of the network is 30. Currently it is 212.
  • Drugs for opportunistic infections are being given from the Organization Contribution.
  • Quarterly once PLWHA Network meeting is being taken place.
  • Mano Yoga Sadhana classes are being conducted for PLWHA.
  • Essential commodities are being provided to the PLWHA from Organization Contribution.

7) Temporary Husbands Network

  • It had been established in the year 2004 September.
  • Its strength is 57 Members.
  • The main goal is to promote safe sexual practices among them.
  • Saving money for future needs is also another objective.
  • Network meeting takes place once in a Quarter.
  • Established in the month of April 2006.
  • The title of the Network is “AWARE” (AIDS Women Association for Rehabilitation and Empowerment) 

8) CBO – Sirivennela Mahila Abhyudaya Seva Sankshema Sangham [Facilitated by NACO/DFID - PSH Project of Jyothi Educational Society]

  • Established on 14th November 2003 with the facilitation of TRU and JES, among sex workers.
  • The main objective is to make them solve their problems amongst themselves.
  • The initial strength of  the CBO is 50 and currently it is 143.
  • The another objective is to make them save money for their future needs.
  • To make them obtain sustainability pertaining to safe sexual practices.
  • So far they have saved nearly Rs. 20,000/-.
  • To make them strong enough to get their non sexual health needs full filled through maintaining linkages.

9) BMGF STI CLINIC Cum DROP In CENTER 

  1. BMGF STI Clinic / Drop-In-Center : It was started In the year 2004 September

BMGF / HLFPPT has established a STI / Drop-In-Center under the stewardship of Jyothi Educational Society for the welfare of the community of sex workers and their family members both for the treatment of STDs and General Diseases.

  • BMGF / HLFPPT Avahan project had allotted a STI clinic cum Drop in Center.
  • Established  in the year 2004 September.
  • The main objective of the clinic is to extend treatment for STIs among sex workers and their partners.
  • Treatment for as symptomatic STIs.
  • Presumptive treatment.
  • Out reach medical camps.
  • Drop in center for sex workers to while away their leisure tim

10) HIV/AIDS Community Care Programme [OVC Orphans & Vulnerable Children]

  • It had been established in the Year 2006 March with the facilitation of SAATHII Hyderabad.
  • It is meant for the welfare of HIV/AIDS related Infected & Affected Children.
  • Formation of clubs among grannies of Infected & Affected children.
  • Lending little amount of loans for income generation.
  • Extending home based care to the Infected & Affected children.
  • Formation of school support clubs involving Parents and teachers.

    Aasha project

  • AASHA (AIDS Awareness Sustained Holistic Action)
    • The month long programme launched by Government was carried out in the month of July 2005.
    • Participated in Grama Sabhas as resource persons.
    • Arranged Break Fast and Lunch with community involving Political, Official and General Public.
    • Organized Huge rallies, Public meetings and Cultural Activities.
    • Created Gross route levels awareness.
    • Adopted 3 Mandals (Unguturu, Tadepalligudem and Nallazerla) to implement AASHA programs.
    • Facilitated the village and Mandal level trainings for resource Persons.

    MAASS (Massive Awareness on AIDS for Stabilized Sustainability)
    • Conducted the above set programme to create gross route level awareness on HIV/AIDS involving all other related NGO’s.
    • Involved all the District Level Officials and Politicians.
    • Conducted Huge rallies through out the District.
    • Conducted Huge Exhibitions displaying innovative HIV/AIDS related IEC & BCC Material.
    • Conducted HIV/AIDS related Cultural Activities.
